Worshiping in Metal Church Buildings
Every little thing in this world evolves each and every generation. After all, as what the famous quote said, “change is the only constant thing in this world”, and evolution is a form of change. Buildings, businesses, people, fashion trends, and every other thing in this world changes, and therefore churches are not an exception, from the wooden churches to metal church buildings.
Regardless of race, culture and religious group, a church is a vital place for worship. Metal church buildings are found in almost every corner of the globe, even in the most remote places. Though, most of the time, churches in such places are still mostly made out of lumber or wood. Regardless of which, the importance of places of worship cannot be denied. Even in a continent made out of states and cities wherein people are often characterized and described as being liberated, the United States still value the importance of church buildings.
In the United States, people still value religion and their belief in God. After all, according to the most recent surveys, despite the fact that a lot of people don’t practice and preach as they are told to, more than 80% of the population believe in GOD and belong to a religious group or denomination.
Although it is possible that a big chunk of these people may not be regular church-goers, a great number of churches are being built or in existence. This is by far evidenced by a huge number of metal church buildings located all over the country. Examples would be the Washington National Cathedral and The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, both of which are located in the heart of the United States, Washington, D.C.
Church officials are most of the time, very much concerned with their cash flow. That is why when it comes to building new churches or temples, they look to metal church buildings for their construction needs. Metal church buildings are more attractive to the religious because of their cost-effectiveness and unmatched durability. Most of all, they can be constructed with clear-span, column-free interiors that are perfect for churches with large congregations.
The main reason though, why church people prefer to build metal church buildings is practically the same with why they prefer to build metal buildings as compared to other types of buildings. That is, because of the sturdiness of metal church buildings. They are very durable and able to withstand natural calamities and disasters. Also, compared to other churches, metal church buildings are easier to build. This means churches will be built faster, more durable and most important of all, much cheaper.
